The Story of Baby "Pumpkin"

Last Updated: November 30, 2023

Baby's 92-year-old owner died and Baby was kept in a dark house by herself for almost 3 months. She was given food put out for two weeks at a time while a family member worked away from the home. All her friends, 2 other dogs and a cat, were taken in by family members, but poor Baby was pretty much abandoned in a dark, cold house. Alerts went out that the house was being sold and she needed a safe place to go fast. A seasoned Corgi rescuer stepped up and offered her a home for her golden years.
Baby, now known as Pumpkin, needed time to decompress after being isolated for 3 months, but she was already starting to relax after just 3 days in her new home. Because of the traumatic isolation in the home of her deceased owner for over 2 months, she needed a fair amount of time to bond with her new owner and feel that she was truly in her forever home. At 14 years of age, she deserves the best life. Baby had the usual tests, preventative treatments and was found to have kidney disease. She will be on a prescription kidney food going forward. She also needed to have dental work done.
