The Story of Ellie

Last Updated: February 13, 2023

Rescuer: Christina OBrien at christiecrittercare@gmail.com

Ellie was on a euthanasia list at an animal hospital in Missouri when the hospital staff reached out to Corgi rescue to take her. The rescue was told that she was brought in to the vet by her owner as an unwanted pet because she was an "hermaphrodite". That was all the information that rescue was provided.
The hospital gave her all of her vaccinations and deworming before being transported to the rescue that night. She smelled terrible and had an obvious infection of her genitals. One of the rescue people took her home, gave her a bath, and has been fostering her since.
Ellie had an ultrasound and it was thought she might have an ectopic bladder which was causing her to have urinary tract infections and if not surgically repaired would cause her to go into kidney failure and eventually die. Ellie had a CT scan, scope and a laser ablation to correct her bladder tract and is now doing well.

This dog is not available for adoption.
