Charlie's owners contacted rescue, he had just been diagnosed with the onset of degenerative myelopathy (DM) and they had just received word they were transferring to overseas for work. They wanted to take Charlie, but didn't think he would make the 15-hour plane ride and were considering euthanasia. Thankfully, their vet and trainer recommended contacting Corgi rescue.
Charlie definitely deserves to live out his life, he still runs, fetches, and is a very happy boy. Thankfully, the rescue has a “sunset fosterer” who will love and care for Charlie to the end. Charlie had a cough when he came in that progressed to pneumonia. Charlie was examined, had several tests, was given the usual preventative treatments and treated for pneumonia.
