The Story of Faith

Last Updated: July 21, 2023

Faith came to the current rescue from another rescue. They didn't want her because she had an eye injury. The eye injury turned out to be not nearly as serious as they thought, however, her teeth were falling out and several were infected. She had a full dental procedure. The rescue suspected that she was pregnant, an ultrasound not only confirmed the pregnancy, but also that she had at least three C-section scars. The rescue wasn’t prepared to deal with a delivery and puppies, so Faith went off to stay with a vet until the puppies were whelped and weaned. Faith’s puppies all found homes. Faith was spayed and had a hernia repaired – but as her skin was so lax and thin from her previous C sections, she began bleeding from her incision after rescue had picked her up. She was taken to an ER clinic where they were able to cauterize some blood vessels, trim some skin, and replace some stitches. Her skin was so thin that previous stitches simply tore the skin providing no closure. Faith is doing much better now and is happy in her permanent foster home.
