The Story of Scout

Last Updated: October 15, 2017

CorgiAid's main goal is to help homeless corgis get healthy, so they can find permanent loving homes.

CorgiAid may be able to help with the expense of dealing with medical issues that clearly existed at the time of adoption.

Scout was adopted with multiple issues.

"He is overweight, nails are curled under his feet, he has one bad ear from previous infection/hematoma that was never treated. The owners couldn't even get out of their chairs (due to health issues) to let the dog outside. We got him home and noticed he was urinating blood. Took him to the vet where he was vaccinated, had a urinalysis and fecal sent out, blood work done. He has infection in both ears, his mouth is full of infection and has grade 3-4 dental disease requiring a dental and extractions ASAP, urinalysis revealed a lot of blood, protein and struvite crystals. The vet was able to feel sand/stones upon palpation of the bladder. He is on two weeks of antibiotics then he will go back to schedule xrays, dental, neuter and possible cystotomy.

"He is one of the most well behaved dogs I've ever seen."

CorgiAid supporters are helping Scout recover from a long period of neglect. Thank you!

He is on a special diet, which is helping his stones dissolve and pass (hooray!). He now has a clean and healthy mouth, and happier ears. He is still being monitored to see if he will need surgery for the stones, but everyone is hopeful that he will not. He feels so much better now!
