As fervently as we all wish every rescue story could have a happy ending, reality is not that kind or gentle.

Here is Harmony's story, in the words of her rescuer:
"Harmony was pulled from the shelter. She had been turned in by her owners due to a tumor on her mammary and they were unable to help her, so they turned her in. We pulled her from the shelter, as she was old and terrified and needed a safe haven until evaluated. Once we got her we did labwork and xrays and her cancer had metastasized so we made the heartbreaking decision to help her cross the bridge."
