The Story of Jake

Last Updated: October 03, 2016

CorgiAid's main goal is to help homeless corgis get healthy, so they can find permanent loving homes.

Sometimes a very newly-adopted dog has medical issues that clearly existed before the dog was adopted, such as a pressing need for dentistry, or a load of heartworms. In these cases, CorgiAid may be able to help with the pre-existing condition.

Jake was heartworm-positive when adopted.

Here is his story, in the the words of his adopter:

"Stray, intact dog which has, as far as we can tell, never had proper shots or parasite prevention.

"As a stray, he'd been getting table scraps from someone in a local home. They left him outside except for the coldest parts of the winter. There is no history of any preventive flea/tick, rabies, heartworm or other treatment."

Jake was adopted, filthy and neglected, with a load of heartworms.

CorgiAid supporters are helping Jake get rid of those nasty worms, so he can enjoy life with his new family. Thank you!
