An alert to CorgiRescue, a mailing list for corgi rescuers, told Arleen Rooney that there was an older Cardigan mix (some think purebred) at the Lancaster, CA shelter in May, 2002, who had been turned in by her owner. Arleen rescued eight-year-old Peggy Sue.
Peggy Sue was very overweight and had hot spots on her coat from lack of care. She needed spaying and had an ear infection. CorgiAid paid for those initial vet expenses. In October, 2002, Peggy Sue's ear infections continued. The vet said she needed ear canal ablation in both ears to free her from the chronic problem. We were happy to help her out again.
