Here is Lily's story, in the words of her rescuer:
"Lily was picked up by Animal Control in Ellis County and taken to a humane organization that contacted us. She was obviously injured and was not walking, a representative picked her up and transported her to our vet. She was xrayed and since there was not obvious break to her back (her pelvis was broken and front legs severely damaged) we elected to put her on a steriod and gave her over the weekend to see if she improved. She got better and we took her home to give her time to heal and she continued to progress. Unfortunately she also tested positive for heartworms which we treated prior to her being spayed.
"This little character is an amazing success story. Lily was skinny, mangy, had missing toenails, broken bones and heartworms. Her loving foster caregiver massaged healing lotion into her little feet every night and let her sleep on a pillow next to her bed where she snored loudly every night. She has learned about treats, how to chew bones, play with toys, chase a ball and loves to play in the sprinkler. And she's not mad at anybody."
Poor Lily was a mess! Thank goodness for her wonderful foster, who took such good care of her! CorgiAid supporters have helped Lily get healthy, so she can lead the happy life she deserves. Thank you!
