The Story of April

Last Updated: August 13, 2008

Rescuer: Walton Salley at salleyw@bellsouth.net

Unfortunately, every rescue story does not have a happy ending.

Poor April lost her home when her family lost theirs.

Luckily April came to the attention of rescue, who took her to the vet to have her health evaluated.

It was clear that April's rear legs were painful, so x-rays were taken. Sadly, the diagnosis was that both of April's hip joints, plus one knee, were severely affected by degenerative arthritis. Her spine was also affected.

It was clear to the examining vet that April had been suffering a great deal of pain for a long time, and would only suffer even more in the future.

The heart-rending decision was made to send April to the Bridge, where she could romp, pain free.

CorgiAid supporters have helped April be relieved of her pain.

Thank you.
