Here is Gracie's story, in the words of her rescuer:
"Gracie was found as an 8 week old pup in a city park. The man who found her apparently didn't think it through and wasn't prepared for dog ownership. He just put her in the backyard and left her there for two years. She had no shelter, no collar, no tags. She never saw a vet or the inside of the house. She only saw her owner when he put food out, almost every day. She ocassionally dug out of her fence and sought companionship with a neighbor who always loved on her for awhile then returned her. One day the neighbor asked the owner about Gracie, and the owner replied that he didn't want her. The neighbor took her, although she knew she could not keep her, and then called an all breed rescue to help. That rescue offered to pay for her spay if we would take her, which we gladly did. Of course, being outside in Houston, TX for two years, without heartworm and flea/tick preventative, Gracie is high HW positive and a bad case of hooks and tapes. Since coming into rescue she has acquired a limp that needs to be looked into, signs of a possible UTI."
CorgiAid supporters will help Gracie get healthy, so she can live the happy life she deserves. Thank you!
