Here is Princess's dramatic story, in the words of her rescuer:
"Princess is the sole survivor of a quadruple homicide that took place in Jonestown, Texas, which is 3 miles from Lago Vista. This occurred on August 26, 2007.
"On the evening of August 26, I received a call from the Lago Vista Police Department, asking our shelter to take custody of the dog. I went to the scene of the murders and picked up Princess from an officer with the Travis County Sheriff's Department.
"We had Princess spayed at River Ranch Animal Hospital. Princess was in heat, but the surgery went smoothly and she was recovering well. However, the next day, she managed to pull out her stitches and expose part of her intestines. The vet on duty did emergency surgery to save her life. Princess spent the weekend at the Emergency Animal Hospital of Northwest Austin. She went back to the regular vet on Monday, and then back to the Emergency Animal Hospital that evening. The emergency vet discovered that Princess's incision site was leaking and that she was bleeding internally. They performed another emergency surgery."
Princess slowly pulled back after all of that, and now is feeling so very much better. CorgiAid supporters helped with the cost of Princess's emergency care. Thank you!
