The Story of Shorty

Last Updated: August 04, 2006

Rescuer: Julie Chadwick at

This dog came into the shelter as a stray...he had been there for at least a week, and was put on the euthanasia list, because he was a little older, and his time had run out. They deferred his neuter because of his age and also he was sick.
This dog has had years of neglect. He is in very bad shape, skin allergies, blood in the urine, infested with ticks and flea, serious gum infections and rotting teeth.....and even through all that neglect was giving his rescuer kisses when she bailed him out of the shelter.
This dog is in serious condition. His rescuer took him straight from the animal shetler to the vet. The vet was horrified at this dog's condtion. He needs a complete blood panel, including the T4 thyroid test. He has serious dental and gum disease. He has lost most of his hair in the rear, probably due to allergies, and his ears are filled up with debris, and is formed a hard surface. Te has a UTI and blood in the urnine, which might indicate a Urinary tract infection or possible stones, but either way needs to be treated. he also is sneezing and probably has a URI cause they all come out of the shetler with it.....
CorgiAid supporters will help poor Shorty feel as good as he possibly can, after his years of neglect. Thank you!

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact Julie Chadwick at for more information.
