The Story of Blink

Last Updated: March 07, 2005

Rescuer: April Warchol at

Someone posted on the CorgiRescue list about a free to good home ad for an 8 year old PWC in the Houston area and asked someone check on it. I did and the woman emailed me back that the dog was still with her and she did not want to keep her. The dog had been living outside her whole life in a home where the woman called herself a breeder of GSDs. Turns out this woman had bred a litter of Corgis years ago, and kept this one for her adult daughter. Eight years later they figure out the daughter (living in an apartment with two young children) might not ever be able to take this dog. I told her if she wanted to turn the dog over to rescue I would spay her and find her a good home. She met up with me yesterday and turned the dog over. The dog is obese, lethargic, terrible skin and coat...but will someday be a beauty.
Seems very sweet but overwhelmed. She had minimal care and contact in her eight years outside it seems. Very affectionate and needy acting to humans.
CorgiAid supporters will help Blink get caught up on her health care so she can begin to look for her forever home. Thank you!

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact April Warchol at for more information.
