Penny was dumped at a shelter in Lufkin TX. The owner reported her as a purebred cardigan welsh corgi but it was obvious when she came into rescue that she is a Pem mix. She is a very great dog and is a YOUNG 10 year old. Nice personality!
This dog has been adopted - July 21 - and we just found out that she is heartworm positive. We are asking the new owners - who love her already and won't dream of not taking her - to have her treatment done through our rescue vet.
Ordinarily, a dog must be *in rescue* to receive CorgiAid. In some cases a very newly adopted dog can be helped with a problem like heartworm that clearly existed before adoption.
CorgiAid supporters will help Penny get over those nasty heartworms so she can enjoy her retirement years in her new home. Thank you!
