Here is Sparkles' story, in the words of her rescuer:
"Can you imagine dumping your faithful dog of 7 years at the shelter because you want to go on a three week long vacation and don’t want to pay someone to care for her? Oh and also for 7 years you didn’t provide her with heartworm protection so now she’s a 7 year old owner surrender in a city shelter with a health issue. That’s what happened to Sparkles. Pretty much a death sentence for most dogs in her situation, but we couldn’t stand for that, could we?"
No, we couldn't!
