As much as we all wish every rescue story could have a happy ending, reality is not that kind or gentle.
Here is Quirk's story, in the words of her rescuer:
"Quirk was pulled from the shelter. She went to a temporary foster in ABQ before being privately transported to Denver. Within 48 hours, she began coughing. She was initially treated for kennel cough on 11/10. Started to get better, then regressed after a week or so. Went back to vet on 11/24 for exam, but had to go back 4 days later as Quirk was feeling much worse. Radiographs, bloodwork and diagnosed with pneumonia. Took to another 24 hour clinic on 12/3 who sent her home with anti-nausea meds and ran some additional BW. On 12/5 Quirk began to display neurological symptoms and was taken to a third vet who has a neurologist on staff. They suspected late stage distemper and recommended euthanasia."
CorgiAid supporters helped Quirk with her final expenses. Thank you.
