It was Benny's lucky day when setter rescue saw his picture on a website and stepped up to help him.
When they got him, they discovered he really wasn't a setter, and looked for resources closer to his likely breed to help.
Here is what his rescuer says:
"Benny was shaved by his owner and thrown outside as the other dog in the home did not get along with Benny. His skin (either form fleas or the shaving) was in bad shape, red and ugly. Benny somehow made it to the kill shelter, owner did not want him back. Thank God! We pulled Benny only to find out he was not a setter mix.
"From foster mom: He is such a good boy. Truly. I gave him another bath and he was perfect for it. No accidents still. Really enjoying his walks outside and oh boy does he like to cuddle! Window watching is a close second :) I still have had no problems with other dogs or my cats either. He is a sweetie pie."
CorgiAid supporters have helped Benny get up to speed on his health care, including all of his parasite testing and vaccinations and neuter. His skin has also been addressed.
Some final words from Benny's rescuer:
"CorgiAid is an absolutely wonderful thing. I had never heard of anything like this before for any breed, and just think it is an awesome idea!"
Benny's rescuer lives in Michigan.
