The Story of Ellie

Last Updated: February 28, 2017

Here is Ellie's story, in the words of her rescuer:

"Ellie was the youngest of our puppy mill moms brought into rescue In January 2017. Ellie was spayed on 01/19/17. On 01/22/17 she was taken to an emergency vet clinic when found unresponsive. She was bleeding internally, and needed an immediate transfusion prior to surgery to correct the internal bleeding. She did recover from this episode, and we are currently awaiting results of a test for von Willebrand disease. It is unknown if the bleeding was a result of malnutrition prior to surgery, or if there were issues as a result of the surgery. We may never know exactly the cause of this serious complication of her surgery. We are very fortunate she survived."

CorgiAid supporters have helped with the cost of Ellie's medical care, including the emergency care she needed. Thank you. She is feeling so much better now!

Ellie was rescued in South Carolina.
