The Story of Cooper

Last Updated: February 22, 2017

Here is Cooper's story, in the words of his rescuer:

"Cooper came into rescue when one of our volunteers was made aware of a breeder giving him away, due to severe dry eye syndrome. The volunteer was told Cooper was a two year old neutered male. When the volunteer received the dog, he was NOT neutered, and was suffering from a corneal ulcer, a complication of his dry eyes. He had been living in a barn. When taken to the veterinarian for treatment, the vet felt he was an older dog, perhaps 5 to 6 years of age. She neutered him, updated all vaccines, and referred him to an ophthalmologist for additional treatment. Cooper did have some eye drops with him when he came into rescue. Cooper's vision is poor, possibly sees shadows and light. His demeanor is very affectionate and gentle.

"Cooper will need ongoing care throughout his life for treatment of his dry eyes Due to his impaired vision, we will not charge an adoption fee for Cooper."

CorgiAid supporters have helped Cooper get diagnosed and stabilized, so he can be as comfortable as possible. Thank you!

Cooper was rescued in South Carolina.
