Here is Bentley's story, in the words of his rescuer:
"Bentley came to rescue the 4th of July weekend. His family had him 5 years and did not take him to the vet. He was grossly overweight. He also had a growth on the side of his lip that hung down like a giant testicle. He had bad teeth and nails 1 1/2" too long. He walks with a limp.
"We took him to the vet within 2 days of his arrival into rescue. The growth was removed and sent to a lab for testing. He had 11 teeth removed. His nails have been trimmed a couple of times. He has enlarged lymph nodes which we have not been able to diagnose yet. He has been on antibiotics and pain medication since arriving."
CorgiAid supporters have helped Bentley with the medical care he needed, including surgery to remove the growth, surgery to remove 11 teeth, needle biopsy to determine the result of the enlarged lymph nodes, antibiotics, continued pain medication, vaccinations.... Thank you! The limp turned out to be old ACL damage. He was not a good candidate for surgery.
Bentley studied very hard, and passed all of his tests when he went back to the vet. He is happy in his new home now.
