CorgiAid's primary goal is to help homeless corgis get healthy, so they can find permanent loving homes. In cases where the dog is adopted with a condition that clearly existed at the time of rescue, CorgiAid may be able to help if an application is filled out within two weeks of adoption.
Rex was a long-distance adoption. His new family took him, sight unseen, after he was transported from a distant former home.
The new family had been told he suffers from dry eye. This condition can require very attentive care from owners, for the rest of the dog's life. Drops and/or ointments need to be applied reliably and consistently, multiple times a day.
CorgiAid supporters have helped Rex get a consultation with a veterinary ophthalmologist, who updated Rex's meds, and will re-check in the future to make sure he is getting optimal treatment. Thank you!
