Here is Aiden's story, in the words of his rescuer:
"Found in a city park by Arlington Animal Services Officers, as 'stray.' Examined by shelter veterinarian due to apparent hind limb 'paralysis,' shelter vet preliminary assessment was possible disc issue. Also heartworm positive. Shelter policy does not allow adoption of high-end special needs dogs to the public; this guy was designated 'rescue only' by shelter administrators, with hopes of getting his needs met by a qualified rescue organization with appropriate resources.
"He is scheduled to get a complete veterinary exam and workup tomorrow by neuro/ortho specialists (Thursday April 9) which is long overdue. He has some movement in his hind legs, does have pain response and does have a tremendous spirit.
"UPDATE 7/6: Aiden looks wonderful, and is comfortable in his cart while out in the yard, he can have normal bodily functions and he can run with the other dogs, even helped with chores this morning and played a little chase with the kong rubber turtle. :) "
CorgiAid supporters have helped Aiden get up to speed on his health care, so he could learn how to get around in his cart. There are several videos of him on youtube, including one where he may be chasing the c*t.... Hooray for feeling good enough to chase the c*t!
Thank you for making it possible for Aiden to feel so much better!
Aiden was rescued in Texas.
