The Story of Smidge

Last Updated: December 12, 2014

Rescuer: Gail Hefley at jandg3216@gmail.com

Here is Smidge's story, in the words of her rescuer:
"Smidge showed up on a local Lost/Found Facebook page. We were tagged, and of course went to check on her. It turns out that she wasn't lost, but rather was unwanted. The lady that took her in said that she had been bouncing around the neighborhood and that the last people to have kept her for any amount of time at all said they didn't want her and were just going to call the pound to come get her. The good neighbor wasn't going to let that happen so she started trying to find a home for the little girl.
"Smidge had a nasty wound on her neck from a collar that was very tight, or from a rope or chain -- it’s impossible to know. She was malnourished and the vet believes that the tips of her ears have a bit of frostbite damage. She’s had a rough life, but she’s an amazingly sweet, happy, bouncy young girl."
CorgiAid supporters have helped Smidge get the medical care she needed to be ready to move on into a healthy and happy life. Thank you!
Smidge was rescued in Texas.
