Here is Poppie's story, in the words of his rescuer:
"A woman's grandaughter contacted us regarding her grandmother's corgi, whom she had owned since he was a pup. He has always been an outside dog and he was put in a crate at night outside. The grandmother, now 82, realized that his barking and her age weren't best for either so he came into rescue with ONLY a rabies shot. He is in a great foster home in Charlotte with Seasoned Corgi Owners whom he has quickly charmed. Despite being an outside dog, he has not marked or had any accidents in the house. Sadly, he is high heartworm positive and we will have to do the slow kill treatment."
CorgiAid supporters are helping Poppie with his health care needs, including heartworm treatment. Thank you!
Poppie was rescued in South Carolina.
