The Story of Dianna

Last Updated: August 05, 2013

Rescuer: Barbara Blume at

Here is Dianna's story, in the words of her rescuer:
"Dianna came into to rescue in February from a shelter. Due to complications of getting her an appt with the foster's vet for spay, she was transferred to the main foster home and at that time is was found she was VERY Pregnant. Given the advancement of the pregnancy, she was allowed to whelp the puppies. She was also heartworm positive.
"At the time that she weaned her puppies another rescue local to the foster had found 3-3 day old puppies abandoned in a ditch, so Dianna gladly stepped up and nursed the puppies. Once those puppies were weaned she was transferred back to the foster home that had access to lower cost spay and heartworm treatment. Once she was spayed, she came up with a knot on her incision and was treated with antibiotics before we could treat her for the heartworms that were still there.
"She is now undergoing heartworm treatment."
CorgiAid supporters are helping Dianna get rid of those nasty heartworms, so she can go forward into the happy life she deserves. Thank you!
Dianna was rescued in Texas.
