What Is A Title, Really? Not just a brag; not just a stepping stone to a higher title, Not just an adjunct to competitive scores.....
A Title is a tribute to the dog that bears it, A way to honor that dog... An ultimate memorial
A Title will remain in the record And in the memory for about as long as anything in this world can remain... Few human honors do better in that regard
And though the dog himself doesn't know or care that his achievements have been noticed... A title says many things in this world of humans... where such things count
A Title says your dog was... intelligent, adaptable, and good-natured It says that your dog loved you enough to do the things that pleased you, however crazy they may have sometimes seemed
A Title says that you loved your dog, That you loved him enough... To spend time with him because he was a good dog, That you believed in him enough... To give him yet another chance when he failed, and.... That in the end your faith was justified.
A Title proves that your dog inspired you to have the special relationship enjoyed by so few; That in a world of disposable creatures, this... Dog with a Title was greatly loved, and loved greatly in return
And when that dear short life is over... The Title remains as a memorial of the finest kind, The best you can give to a deserving friend,
A Title says... Volumes of praise in one small set of initials before or after the name
A Title is nothing less than.... love and respect given and received permanently. - Author Unknown
From the moment we brought Monty! home, he was the heart and soul of our family. Throughout his 12 + years, he gave each of us so much joy and happiness. Even grandma, who never really had a "love of dogs", found a special place in her heart for Monty!, allowing him to sleep on her couch in the den, feeding him food at the dinning room table and buying him special treats for every occasion. Monty! was more than a USDAA Silver Agility Champion, he was our Champion. He would smite all those who doubted him by making the impossible, possible. We stood on a podium in Arizona in 2008 as 5th in the IN THE WORLD at the USDAA Cynosport Games proving that Team Monty! could do just that.
"4 little legs, one big heart!" was our motto and Monty! gave us his heart, even to the end. There are endless letters we can put after his name for the numerous agility titles he earned over his 10 year career, but the most important title that he truly earned is that of of "our son."
You will forever be in our heart Monty! 1/25/99-9/30/11
